Shut up and Jump..

I wanted to publish this a while ago..got stuck somewhere..but here u go..

Lots of people have done this before and am sure lots of people will do this in the future. But that does not lessen the importance of what I have done...yes i did it ..Sky diving..

For those who does not know what is sky diving-my lecture!!

Jump from a plane from 14000 feet, experience a free fall at the speed of 125 miles/hr (200 kms/hr).Open the parachute at 3000 feet and save your life!!

does it sound interesting? or are you feeling the butterfly flying in your stomach? You will definitely think this as interesting if you are adventuorous person..but lots of people think this as insane...for those guys, you really need guts!!

If you want to do it in US,do it before winter..Most of the institutes stop diving in November 1st week. You really need a mental preparation for doing this..You can not just go and jump..But,I bet, you will really have fun.

The most excciting movement for me was to look at the ground from the plane, about to jump and seeing the earth through the clouds..Now You cant do anything..My instructor asked me lets go?..I said yeah..lets do it..we jumped ..did a summersault..now flying like a bird..going down 125 miles/hr..the videographer is taking the video..He asked me to smile..I said he he..the sound did not come out :-)

My instructor rotated me in the air..that was an awesome experience..You wont feel any fear because you cant calculate your speed..you dont have anything to compare your speed ..but you can see the earth approaching :-)

We opened the parachute around 3500 feet..Thank god..It opened properly :-)

After that it was an awesome view..Poconnos Mountain..In between he gave me the parachute control and i helped him to go to the correct direction..

We landed safe..I could not stand in my feet for some time..I saw My friend Shyam landing safely....

We challanged everyone who came with us to do this..I was in the real excitement!!

Next day Joe asked me why are you so happy..I said I just realized how important the life is..Sorry for being happy..

Randy Pausch

July 25th-2008

I will remember this in my whole life. Unfortunately it’s a bad news. The reason to write this page is just him. Randy pausch. He died because of Pancreatic Cancer today. He is one of the best person that I have ever heard about.Simple, Polite, Selfless and humorous. I don’t know How Randy could cheer up others when he was suffering from cancer .He did not want sympathy from us.He wanted us to face the challenges In the life and move on. He was a professor and scientist in Carniegh mellon university. He was based out of Pittsburgh and decided to move to Virginia to spend his last few months that he had in his life.

The last lecture by him was such inspirational talk that he has given to the people who was suffering from cancer. He gave them strength through his humorous but valuble points. His classes about Time management and in other topics are really helpful to the people and of course his book “The last lecture.”

Randy leaves his wife Jai and three kids in this world. Let me pray to the god that we never forget him and his ideas.

Phantoms in the Brain !!

Iam not going to talk about brain..I can talk indeed, because i just read the book "Phantoms in the Brain" !!

It was on a Cold Mid January long week end, I was in Pittsburgh with Arunettan and Susmitoppol..I saw this book when i was checking out Arunettans books collections. He said, read this, you will be amazed.I said a silent OK,"I hate biology!!"

But the book was awesome. The book gave me a wonderful idea about neurology, Why people see God,and even the Hindu belief of "Everything Maya".I liked the way he started the book..he said "In any field, find the strangest thing and then explore it".This very sentence was enough to present his caliber!

He explained about the Phantom limbs..The pain that they feel in the body part that they dont have.I was amazed by reading this. How will you feel the pain in the Thumb if you dont have a Thumb. And the thing is ,how do you cure the pain of his Thumb if he does not even have a Thumb.

Why does some people claim that they had interactions with God? Are they so special?
Ramanujan could even write any theorem with out even thinking of the logic..is he so good in all other things in his life?

Why did Hindu Mythology stress about "Maya"?

V Ramachandran has brilliantly presented all these topics.I did not even feel that am reading something about Brain!!

But I bet,you need a very good patience if you want to finish it!!

Question Without Answers

Its' really wierd, but its the Truth....

I was coming back home with my colleagues from office.I work in New York City in water st,and lives in Jersey city. That makes me walk about 15 mts to get the path train to my home.

Every day,I see a beggar in wheel chair. He does not have a leg.We always feel sorry about him.But on that day, I saw him with a "Apple IPod".Believe me..to confirm,I stood there for a second and confirmed that ,its a IPod. He was changing the songs in that. am so wierd too..I started thinking about that.He should have a computer with ITunes to manage that IPod.Does he own a computer ? who knows..

I have seen people asking for money in New York and Chicago Subways. Are they really poor?

These thoughts brought me back to India. A beggar used to come to my home every thursday. My Grand mom gives her Rs.1.Once by curiosity,I asked her about the number of homes that she goes on day.She said about 100.She gets atleast Rs.100 and some clothes and food.Thats well above average than the Poverty line in India.

Yes ofcourse ,there are real people who are under Poverty line and trying to make up a living. There are people who wants the money.1000's of them..they may not be beggars, they may have a home that is smaller than a Middle class men bath room. When will the charity money reaches them?

I still remember the kid who pulled my shirt in Mysore, asking me to buy a 50 paise candy.I gave him 5 Rs. and did not take the candy. Thats the money , I could give that kid at that time.Infact,I did not see the Candy,I was not powerful enough to see his face again.

Something About me

I created this blog by getting inspired by some of friends and colleagues..So this is it..86400 seconds a day and for last 24 years(almost) ..here am..(Courtesy to dialogues from the movie Wimbledon...I love that movie!)

this is not going really good..its difficult to write something about me..ok..just give it a try

People can not say am shy...am too good when dealing with elders esepecially the grandpa's and Grandmom's ,uncles' Aunty's!! am from a Brahmin family in India ..we call it as Namboodiri and claim ourselves as True Brhamins in Kerala..Atleast am not..i dont follow the rituals that am suppose to follow..( ya got a spine!)..But i love all the get together ,all the functions ...its just mind blowing..

I started reading books( All Malayalam) at that age of 12 , I would say..thanks to mom..she is avid reader.Started some serious English reading just after my 12th..ya,that might explains my poor language skills!! Thanks to Sebastian Sir ( My malayalam Professor ) and a good friend of mine..I started some serious reading...

am here in New York for last couple of years..I learned how to love what am doing..Never yelled at me saying why did u choose this? ya wanted to do something else..am not that lucky!

Ok..So this is it..It was not that hard as I thought..Now its more difficult to find good topics, that interest others...
